THE GOSPEL OF JOHN'S BLESSINGS TO US

Of the many blessings promised to the Christian, ten of the greatest are found in the gospel of John.

John 1:17; Grace and truth. Here we find the Greek word "Charis" which means the "divine enablement and it's reflection in the life". Even as Christ was the reflection of the Father while He walked the earth, that grace that has been given to us allows us to have the "enablement" to be the reflection of Christ in the world today.

John 4:10-14; Jesus has given us living water.

Strong's # 5204 hudor (hoo'-dore); water (as if rainy) literally or figuratively:

Strong's # 4077 pege (pay-gay'); (through the idea of gushing plumply); a fount (literally or figuratively), i.e. source or supply (of water, blood, enjoyment) fountain, well.

This is not still, foul, stagnant water, but flowing, life giving water!

John 7:37-39;16-17; We as Christians have something the world does not. The true and living God living right inside us by His Holy Spirit.

John 13:15; Jesus left us a perfect example.

John 17:8; The word of God was directly spoken by Jesus Christ to His disciples and recorded for all those who would follow for the life giving water that it would give to all.

John 17:22; We have been given the "glory of God". Revelation 21 speaks of the Holy City the New Jerusalem having the "glory of God"!!

Strong's # 1391 doxa (dox'-ah); glory (as very apparent), in a wide application (literal or figurative, objective or subjective): dignity, glory (-ious), honour, praise, worship.

John 6:32-33; Jesus called Himself the "true bread". We are called to eat fully that satisfying "bread of life" for the ability to live the "abundant life" that Jesus promised His disciples.

John 14:27; One thing that we really need in the world that we live in is "peace", especially that "peace that surpasses all understanding" that we can receive through prayer and supplications.(Phil 4:6,7)

John 15:16;16:23; When we pray we expect by faith that God hears us and will answer us (maybe not how or when we want) because He says in His Word that He will. This is a very wonderful blessing to be able to call on the God who created the universe and all its' complexities, and know that He not only hears us, but that He also cares.

The Bible (Gods' inspired Word) is filled with promises to His people. It is up to us to live up to the conditions of those promises so that we can be recipients of them. These are ten of the very dearest promises to the believer as they point the way to the "abundant life".
