The
Stewardship of Life
1.
The diversity of gifts.
Ro
12:6-8;
I
Cor 12:4,12-27;
God
has given to each one of us gifts and callings that are without
repentance on His part. We are the ones who really determine the
effectiveness, usefulness and worth of those gifts. Mt 25:14,15;
2.
Stewards not owners.
We
really do not own anything. Not one thing is rightfully ours to say
"It's all mine!". Slaves are servants and servants are the
property of their master along with everything they have. Lk
19:13; Ro 14:8;
3.
Faithfulness is a requirement.
The
Bible says that without faith it is impossible to please God.
I
Cor 4:2;
4.
Our lives were/are costly.
Jesus
paid for our lives with His almost 2000 years ago and the blood He
shed then is still as precious and costly now as it was then. We are
purchased with the most costly thing in the universe, the blood of
the Son of God. I Cor 6:20;
5.
Guard the entrusted gifts.
This
takes an alertness to the schemes of the enemy and a knowledge of the
tactics he uses to try to distract us from allowing God to use us. I
Ti 6:20;
6.
Being a minister.
We
are all ministers. Every man, every woman, every child that knows
Jesus Christ as Lord cannot escape that fact. Men and women in their
maturity are naturally able to be more effective than a young child
but even children who have experienced the salvation of the Lord are
able ministers of the gospel of Christ. I Pet 4:10;
There
is an accountability that we will face someday in eternity that
should be a motivating factor that causes us to strive for the
rewards of the righteous, running that race that is set before us;
striving for that high calling of God. We are responsible for our own
lives and how we are used by God.
Matt
18:23;
Pr
9:12;
