As
Timothy followed the Apostle Paul's teachings, I have endeavored to
follow the teachings of men I know who are not influenced by doctrine

The
doctrine in a persons life is revealed in;
1.
What they believe
2.
Who they believe in
3.
Why they believe it
Doctrine
determines;
1.
Character - what we are
2.
Behavior - what we do
3.
Destiny - where we go

(KJV)
The
doctrine of God existed before man and the church, (Jn 1:1-2) it is
not doctrines' error that;
1.
Divisions in Christiandom exist. (denominations)
2.
Philosophies of man are interjected into true doctrine from which
heresies are formed
